OLDHAM Writing Cafe’s first meeting of 2014 is on Saturday, January 4, when Wendy Burgess will run a workshop on e-publishing, how to get started and what material is available. Lees Library, 10.30am-12.30pm.
DOBCROSS hosts its annual “Carols by Torchlight” on Monday, led by the Youth Band, walking from the band club to Church Fields, 7pm.

YOUNG fundraisers from Year 6 at St Mary’s Primary School, Greenfield, raised £350 for Children In Need, and £226 for Wateraid.
LOOK back on the swinging 60s with an exhibition showcasing fashion and everyday objects from the era at Saddleworth Museum to celebrate its 50th anniversary. See if you can spot someone you know in a photographic display of local people in their prams.
