GREENFIELD and Grasscroft Residents’ Association holds its annual meeting on Thursday at 7pm, followed by the monthly meeting, at the Satellite Centre in Wellington Road.
ABSOLUTE beginners and experienced crocheter and knitters are invited to Greenfield Library on Monday, 10am-noon, to explore their own creativity and learn new techniques.
JOIN the RSF Off Road Cycling Club on Tuesday for a moderate day’s ride exploring the local countryside, on bridleways, tow-paths, tracks and country lanes. Meet at Lime Kiln Cafe, Brownhill Visitor Centre, Uppermill, for a 10am start.
BUDDING authors are being urged to take work they have started and writing exercises they took no further to Oldham Writing Cafe’s meeting on Saturday, January 18, with a view to them being edited, polished and e-published in an anthology. The group meets at Lees Library on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
SADDLEWORTH Male Voice Choir holds its annual dinner at the civic hall on Saturday, January 18, with the popular Bolton-based folk singer, actor and comedian Bernard Wrigley as guest speaker. Tickets cost £25, from David Davies on 01457-873 182.
REHEARSALS are well under way by the Saddleworth Players for their first play of 2014 “Quartet” which opens at the Millgate Arts Centre, Delph, on Saturday, January 25. The Ronald Harwood play, which runs until February 1, centres on three opera singers who are about to have their retirement rudely interrupted.
