JOIN local writer Canon Jim Burns to hear history and memories of Whit walks at Love Lydgate’s monthly Monday talk, “Whit and Wisdom of the Walk”, on Monday at the parish hall, at 2pm. Admission £3, in aid of the hall refurbishment.

CYCLISTS can join RSF Off Road Cycling Club at Brownhills Visitor Centre, Uppermill, on Tuesday, May 13, for a leisurely guided off-road cycle ride to Tintwistle. “Oldham’s municipal burial grounds” is the subject of a Saddleworth Historical Society talk on Thursday, May 15, by Rod Melton, at Saddleworth Museum gallery, 7.30pm.
ENJOY an evening of musical entertainment at Kilngreen Church on Friday, May 16, at 7.30pm, with Diggle B Band and Diggle School choir and band. Hosted by the Friends of Diggle School, tickets are £3.50 from Diggle School, post office and band club.
