Music night

ENJOY an evening of musical entertainment hosted by the Friends of Diggle School at Kilngreen Church tonight, at 7.30pm, with Diggle B Band, and Diggle School choir and band.


Tickets are £3.50, £2 concessions, from Diggle School, post office and band club, with proceeds to school funds.


OLDHAM writing cafe meets tomorrow at Lees Library, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome.


SADDLEWORTH Musical Society will perform its spring concert, with orchestra, on Sunday, from 7.30pm at Uppermill Civic Hall. Included are pieces by Mozart, Handel, Vivaldi and Karl Jenkins sung by the choir and invited soloists. Tickets, £11 and £5 for children/students, are available from Turner’s Dry Cleaners in Uppermill, Celebrations in Lees or by phone on 01457-874922.


FAMILIES are being urged to pull on their walking shoes and join in a fun treasure hunt in Dobcross village on Sunday. It starts from the Dobcross Band and Social Club car park, Platt Lane, at 2pm.



OLDHAM Adult Community Wind Band plays on Sunday at Dobcross Band and Social Club, from, 8pm. Tickets are £3 on the door.



LOVE Lydgate hosts a plant and home bake sale on Sunday at the parish hall, from 12.30-4pm.



THE Oldham Chronicle’s Martyn Torr speaks about his cycling tour in Bangladesh at the Love Lydgate group, on Tuesday, in the Oak room at the White Hart, from 7.30pm. A £5 donation will fund special entertainment for Love Lydgate’s fifth birthday lunch in October.
