ST Chad’s Church, Uppermill, is staging a First World War exhibition in memory of the men from the parish who gave their lives in the 1914-18 conflict.
Their names are inscribed on the memorial tablet in the sanctuary in the church. The exhibition is open every Wednesday and Sunday, from 2 to 4pm until September 27. Admission is free.
Saddleworth Mothers’ Club is hosting a talk by Anne Ashton entitled “Grannies Secrets” on Wednesday, at St Chad Parish Centre, Lee Street, Uppermill, from 8pm. Details from Margaret Hardy on 01457 873571
Oldham Band (Lees) plays a concert on Saturday, August 30, at the Civic Hall, Uppermill, at 8pm. Tickets are £5 from The British Legion, Lees, or Sally on 0789-1594983. Proceeds go to Saddleworth Parish Council chairman’s charity appeal.
ST CHAD’S Parish Centre, Station Road, Uppermill, is holding a coffee morning on September 6, from 10am to noon, in aid of Francis House Children’s Hospice.
