FRIENDS of St Mary’s Church Organ Trust are holding a whisky tasting event tonight, at Boarshurst Band Club, from 7.30pm. Ttickets are £15 from Greenfield and Uppermill post offices.
DENSHAW Library is open to borrow or exchange books at the following times: Sunday 10am-1pm, Monday 6-8pm, Tuesday 6-8pm, Wednesday 6-7.30pm, Thursday 6-8.30pm, Saturday 9am-2pm. It is closed on Fridays.
OLDHAM writing cafe meets at Lees Library from 10.30am to 12.30pm on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The charge is £2 per meeting, which includes refreshments. The first meeting is free.
“THE very best of brass” concert is taking place tomorrow at Uppermill Civic Hall, from 8pm. It features Oldham Band (Lees) and proceeds will go to the MS Society, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Oldham Mountain Rescue. Tickets, from any Saddleworth post office, are £8, £7 concession and children under 12 go free.
THE Halle Youth Choir is performing at the Uppermill Coffee Concert tomorrow. Held at Uppermill Methodist Church, from 12.15pm, admission is £5 — £3.50 concessions — with proceeds going to the Christie Hospital.
THE Pennine Singers spring concert is held tomorrow at Christ Church, Freizland, from 7.30pm. Admission is £8 — £7 concessions — in aid of the church’s organ loft and bell tower.
SADDLEWORTH Players production of “Whose Life Is It Anyway”, by Brian Clarke, is staged from March 21-28 at Millgate Arts Centre, Delph, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8 from www.saddleworth players.org or 01457- 874644.
