HELP Street Scene Greenfield spruce up the area’s canal towpaths.
Volunteers are clearing debris, cutting back vegetation and resurfacing areas with stone as well as repainting lock gates along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. The next dates are Saturday, March 5 and Thursday, March 17. For more information contact Gill McCulley on 01457 870364.
SADDLEWORTH Mothers Club is hosting a quiz night on Wednesday, and a cheque presentation of funds raised last year for Chasing Rainbows, in memory of PC Nicola Hughes. All meetings are held at St Chad’s Parish Centre in Uppermill at 8pm. For further information call Margaret Hardy: 01457 873571.
THE world famous Black Dyke Band will be appearing at the Civic Hall Uppermill on Saturday night. Tickets are available now from Post Offices in Saddleworth or by calling Phil Beckwith on 07976 165815.
A WINE and cheese night is to be held at Dobcross Band Club. The night, led by wine writer, speaker and consultant, Simon Woods, takes place on Saturday from 8pm.
