UNITED Business Centres plc has acquired 10,000 sq ft of space at Howarth Court on the Broadway Business Park, Chadderton, to create serviced office accommodation.
UBC has taken Unit Four, a stand-alone building in a joint venture with developer Gladman Developments.
Commercial electrical contractors Sure Connect Systems Ltd has acquired Unit Five and Spectroserve, a company which services and maintains laboratory equipment, has secured Unit Six. Each is of 2,250 sq ft.
Working for large organisations such as Unilever, Swinton Insurance and Black Horse Finance, Sure Connect Systems employs 20 people and is moving from premises in Rochdale Road, Blackley.
Spectroserve, which works for chemical and pharmaceutical companies and hospitals across the North-West, is relocating from two smaller offices in North Manchester to bring together its repair and administration teams.
Five people will be based at Howarth Court.
These deals mean that more than half of Gladman’s space at Howarth Court has been disposed of in the three months since the launch of the canalside project.
Gladman’s Jacqui Bayliss says: “The serviced office centre will provide smaller businesses within the Oldham area with an entry level option to our office development.”
Orion Engineering and financial advisers Acumen have already taken space at Howarth Court.
