Civil engineering specialist Westshield Ltd is celebrating winning three contracts from Kirklees Council.
They have a combined value of more than £1.75 million and each was won via a competitive tender process by the Oldham-based construction company.
Westshield, at Waldron House, Drury Lane, Chadderton, will help the West Yorkshire council deliver its regeneration and investment strategy, including a commitment to improve the highways, footpaths and streetscapes in Heckmondwike, Birstall and Stile Common.
The comprehensive plan of works also includes junction upgrades, traffic signalling, highway resurfacing, hard and soft landscaping, pedestrian footpath widening and construction, CCTV, street lighting and bus stop installations, drainage improvements and the creation of attractive feature areas with natural stone detailing, seating, landscaping and even a traditional style telephone box.
Westshield managing director Patrick Waldron told Chronicle Business: “We have been working with Kirklees Council for more than 20 years and are delighted to be representing them again within their own borough. We hope that winning these new projects is testament to the care and attention we invest in every job we do.”
