Make Shaw Tyres your first stop

SHAW Tyres, part of Bridgestone’s First Stop network of dealerships, is celebrating its 25th year in business.

Set up in September, 1983, by Maurice Leach, the family business based in Duke Street, Shaw, has gone from strength to strength. It was one of the original dealerships to become part of the First Stop network 12 years ago.

Mr Leach was joined by his son Steve at the firm in 1986. Together they have built a successful business which specialises in tyres and exhausts, employing four long-standing staff. All have been with Shaw Tyres for 15 years or more.

When Maurice retired last year, Steve took the reins and is continuing to build up the business which has expanded the range of services to include brakes.

Managing director Steve said: “My father set up Shaw Tyres 25 years ago when he saw an opportunity to provide Shaw with a service it was lacking.

“Having the support of the First Stop network has been key to helping us grow.

“As a small business, we have the backing of a big company combined with a good product.”

First Stop’s Andy Dingley added: “Shaw Tyres is proof that by looking after your customers, building a loyal team and providing a quality product, a business will thrive.

“We look forward to working with Steve and the team for many more years.”

To celebrate its 25th year, Shaw Tyres is offering customers the chance to win £250 of vouchers in a prize draw.
