CHADDERTON business Diodes Incorporated, formerly Zetex Semiconductors, has won a major international award.
In its inaugural year, the National Microelectronics Institute’s Low Power Green Design Award for 2008, sponsored by Synopsys, went to Diodes for its rectifier controller, the first in a new family of products.
The judges stated: “A clear winner emerged with a design that was both innovative and elegant and which had potentially the biggest positive impact on energy consumption and the biggest market reach.”
Diodes Incorporated supply chain manager Tim Monaghan said: “To receive this award, in its first year, is a tremendous accolade for Diodes and really does reflect the level of design innovation put into the product and most importantly, the fantastic power-saving impact it will have the world over.”
