EARLY planning for Christmas paid off for both Hollinwood business Housing Units with sales and footfall figures remaining strong in December.
Sales of Christmas decorations and seasonal goods and winter sale footfall saw double digit increases on the same period in 2007.
Director Nick Fox said: “I put this down to two factors: firstly, customers have been spreading their spending on Christmas since September, which was when we opened our Christmas department.
“Secondly, I have no doubt that our staff’s reputation as being exceptionally friendly is worth a few pounds on the bottom line.
“Our customers are incredibly loyal for a number of reasons — pricing is key, and we have obviously struck the right balance, but the friendliness and knowledge of our staff is showing true value.”
