AN Oldham timber and building supplies merchant is featured in a promotional DVD in support of Get Britain Building — a campaign aimed at reversing the decline in the recession-hit construction industry.
The campaign is demanding that the Government does all it can to prevent 300,000 predicted job losses in the sector and to create a framework in which small construction businesses can survive in the recession.
The DVD, which can be viewed on YouTube, features organisations operating throughout the industry, from builders and manufacturers, to materials suppliers such as Howarth, based in Shaw Road.
Neale Brewster, from the firm, said: “We are very supportive of what Get Britain Building is trying to achieve. Its success would bring direct benefits to our business, but equally it would mean that countless other people who either work in, or are associated with the construction sector, will be able to safeguard their futures better.”
