DESIRE is the name of the game for Angie Brown who has opened a new business in Greenfield.
Many would question the timing of such a venture, especially as Angie (23), from Mossley, has invested more than £10,000 to convert the former tack shop in Chew Valley Road into a gloriously open and warm salon.
The Angie Brown Hair Company styles itself as a unisex business and there is little doubt that a few men will find their way through the doors although Angie, and her colleague Lisa Kerchek (21), from Dobcross, a self-employed stylist, will find more women customers.
Angie said: “I have been in the business all my adult life and always wanted my own salon.
“We have worked hard to create this business and will work harder to make it a success.”
With the support of her parents, Geoff and Denise, and brother Justin, Angie has created a Greenfield gem.
Both have experience in the hair business, Angie at a salon in Chadderton and Lisa in Lees.
