New lets create interest

AN Oldham success story has led to a number of units — ranging in size from 400sq ft to 1,200sq ft — becoming available at the Falcon Business Centre, Chadderton.
A enterprise which started with three men and a desk, in one starter unit, has reached a multi-million-pound turnover, with more than 30 staff, and has relocated out of the borough to larger, stand-alone premises.
That left 10 units vacant at the Victoria Street incubation set up, which has been a huge success for almost 20 years. Internal moves have seen a number of units taken, and some new lets have been secured, says centre manager John Williams. He added: “When units become available, there is always a great deal of internal interest and movement, and that has been the case this time.
“To lose one tenant which occupied 10 units is obviously a blow, but that is why we are here, to kick-start businesses — we are delighted in that respect.”
