Oldham businesses looking for a window of opportunity in which to ease their economic worries may wish to take advantage of an offer by Smith Metals, one of the largest scrap metal dealers in the North-West.
The business, established in Rochdale by brothers Andrew and Mark Smith more than 30 years ago, is offering a free, no-obligation scrap audit which will meet both the commercial and increasingly complex regulations now required.
The Scrap Audit includes a stringent evaluation of the site’s scrap output, as well as a professional and personal report of recommendations.
James Cubbon, business development manager at Smith Metals, now relocated to a purpose-built facility in Bolton, said: “We are keen to highlight the level of service we can offer in Oldham.
“It is important that companies comprehend the value of the scrap they may have lying around and in turn what this can do for their company’s cash flow.
“Our scrap audits are a perfect opportunity for local businesses to get free, expert advice and, more importantly, pin-point areas of their trade in which they could save valuable time and and recoup more money.”

ROCA relaunch needs you!
OLDHAM businesses are invited to attend the relaunch of ROCA, First Choice Homes’ pioneering Respect Our Community Awards at Chadderton Town Hall tomorrow.
The evening will showcase the success of the awards over the past 16 months, promote the scheme and attract extra funding from the business community, according to project manager Nicola Gleave.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shoab Akhtar, will outline the virtues of the scheme and congratulate the participants and supporters.
Steve Yorke, FCHO’s director of management and operations, said: “We had a wonderful first year thanks to our generous sponsors and the commitment of our customers and tenants who came up with some wonderful ideas.
“Now we need to enthuse everyone again for our next round and I hope we have a bumper turnout tomorrow. We have a strong tradition of community engagement and recently created a Better Neighbourhoods Team to support our locally-based teams to deliver a wider community-driven agenda.
“The Respect Our Community Awards are key to empowering local people, enabling them to make their own contribution to build mutual respect and improve the quality of life of those around them.”
Anyone who would like to attend or requiring further details can contact Nicola on 0161-770 3796.
