Beat the crunch

A workshop designed to help businesses combat the credit crunch and deal with its effects takes place next Wednesday (June 10) from 5.30pm at the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel, Castleton.
The event is hosted and organised by Business Link North West and Oldham and Rochdale councils.
There will be a presentation by Paul Stewart, of Profit Masters, focussing on business finances, including credit control and overheads, customer service, training and marketing.
There will be an opportunity to network and talk to specialists on a number of topics, including raising finance through Government-sponsored initiatives, what the banks can do to help, and accountancy advice and support.

Students visit architects
ARCHITECTURE students from University Campus Oldham visited the Hollinwood Business Centre offices of leading educational practice TWB Architects and were shown around by managing director Nick McGilvray.
He was keen to show the students “what happens in the real world” and laid on lunch for the group, as well as supporting the Oldham Educational Trust with a donation of £1,000.
Among the students on the visit were (left to right) Hannah Goodwin, Kayleigh Rand and Isha Gardiner.
Marketing workshop
OLDHAM Progressive Enterprise Network is hosting a free marketing workshop at which the guest speaker will be sales and marketing specialist Peter Nunu.
The workshop takes place from 5 to 6.30pm on June 25 at the Honeywell Centre, Hadfield Street, Oldham.
