Chadderton-based civil engineering specialist Westshield is celebrating receiving its seventh consecutive RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Award and its second consecutive British Safety Council International Safety Award.
The standards are among the most respected in the industry and recognise a company’s continued commitment to protecting the welfare of its employees, the environment and the communities in which it operates.
Speaking from the company headquarters at Waldron House, Drury Lane, Chadderton, managing director and North-West chairman of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, Patrick Waldron, said: “We’ve made health and safety best practice a part of our everyday company culture and are as committed to achieving our goals in this area as we are our more commercial targets.
“Good health and safety practice is not just about reducing the number of incidents, it is about good management, running tried and tested systems and procedures that all employees and sub-contractors respect and adhere to.
“We regard our health and safety achievements as evidence of our business professionalism and we will not let down our guard regardless of how many awards we receive.”
