Adamsons Vehicle Care Centre is celebrating being among the best in Britain.

Tomorrow sees the official launch of the Kitemark Vehicle Body Repair scheme — giving motorists the chance to choose a crash repairer displaying the Kitemark symbol to ensure a safe, quality repair.

Adamsons, based at Bottom o’ the Moor, Oldham, was awarded a Kitemark licence in May, 2008, and have been promoting this in-house expertise ever since.

Formerly Adamson’s Crash Repair Centre, the family-run business began trading in the 1950s. The company handles body repairs for private and commercial vehicles, dealing with private, fleet, accident management and insurance company clients.

The Kitemark, created by the accident repair industry and British Standards Institute two years ago, addresses the increasing complexities of modern car manufacturer and provides the industry with recognisable and robust standards, according to Adamson’s general manager James Gore.

He added: “The Kitemark initiative has been fundamental to raising standards in the crash repair industry.

“Britain’s is the best in the world and intends to maintain its reputation.

“Cars are so much more sophisticated today as there are 10 skills involved in a repair as well as numerous and complex materials.

“The motorist may not always appreciate what is involved but by choosing a Kitemark crash repairer the motorist can be reassured that the repair has been completed safely.

“The vehicle offers the motorist the same amount of protection as it did before the accident and this is the primary intention of all Kitemark crash repairers.”

Supported by the insurance industry, the Kitemark scheme is being heavily promoted by television and radio campaigns.

Mr Gore concluded: “We are 100 per cent behind the introduction of the Kitemark.

“It will assure our customers and the insurers we work with that the vehicles going through our bodyshop have been repaired using safe and demonstrable quality procedures.”
