Willmott Dixon Group is the greenest construction company in the UK according to the second Sunday Times Green List.
The company, which has a local office at the Bizspace Hollinwood Business Centre, Albert Street, achieved third place in the Green Companies list as well as winning in the category of Best Big Company with high environmental impact.
Willmott Dixon was the highest placed contractor/developer in the survey that takes account of the views of employees — who get to rate their organisation’s green credentials — as well as assessing the environmental performance, policies and practices of businesses.
Willmott Dixon Group, which employs almost 3,000 people across the country, aims to be carbon neutral and send zero waste to landfill by 2012.
Rick Willmott said: “To do so well at our first attempt is brilliant news for the business.
The Sunday Times Green List aims to be a definitive guide to businesses with the most radically improved environmental performances.
