IT’S all systems go at BAE’s Chadderton site for staff who helped launch the inaugural One Oldham Business Awards.
Already assured of a bronze in the chairman’s awards, staff are now gearing up for a presentation to a panel of peers who will decide if the company’s contribution to the awards, supported and launched by the Oldham Chronicle, can receive a silver accolade.
Gary Burns, a senior procurement management at Chadderton said: “It’s good news . . . we have been recommended to proceed for a silver award which is marvellous for all the staff at Chadderton.”
He said: “This was a wonderful example, not only of BAE Systems supporting and helping the greater Oldham business community, but displaying one of our core values — that of corporate social responsibility,” he added.
Staff from Chadderton will attend a dinner at the de Vere Heron’s Reach Hotel, Blackpool, in October to receive their bronze awards — while Mr Burns awaits a date to go for silver.
