MORE than 70 employees at the Shaw-based national sort centre of Home Delivery Network — the UK’s largest dedicated home delivery and collection company — have successfully achieved Level Two NVQ qualifications in warehousing and storage, team leadership and business administration.
The certificates were presented by senior members of HDN management during a ceremony at the Linney Lane base.
Home Delivery Network distributes more than 100 million parcels per year to consumers across the UK from retailers including River Island, Sainsbury’s and online fashion store Asos. All 210 employees are being given the opportunity to gain a wide range of NVQs.
Home Delivery Network chief executive Brian Gaunt said: “This achievement is testament to the calibre and commitment of our colleagues at the national sort centre.
“Training at all levels of the business is vitally important to us being able to provide an excellent service to our clients and it is also key to staff development and retention.
“For this reason we are extending the NVQ scheme across all of our our parcel depots in the UK.”
