TWO Oldham men who established a manufacturing business in 2005 have created a offshoot aimed at the domestic market.

Paul McNally, (40), from Shaw, and Duncan Brickhill, (46), of Salford, have opened The Door Company at Unit One on the King Mill industrial estate off Shaw Road, Royton.

Doors for the domestic market are manufactured on site and, once the showroom is fully fitted out, they intend to create a manufacturing viewing area where customers can see their door being constructed.

Mr Brickhill, who started manufacturing doors in Gladstone Street, in 2005, with Mr McNally, is convinced they are on to a winner.

He said: “There is a market for doors and once people realise they can come along and choose from a wide range, and see their door being made, it will be a winner. Our prices are on a par with the national competition but we offer a personal service.”

The business partners are already successful with their On-Time Interiors business, a shopfitting service employing 12 people full-time and a further 25 sub-contractors.

They have invested heavily in equipment and machinery to set up their enterprise and are convinced the people of Oldham and surrounding area will support a local company offering a top-quality service and product.

“The key is getting people to know we are here.

“We have been advertising and doing leaflet drops and working hard on our products, too,” Mr Brickhill added.
