Enter on-line for business awards

Entries can now be made on-line for the Oldham Business Awards, Chronicle Business can reveal.

A new website — www.oldhambusinessawards.co.uk  — has been set up to facilitate entries in each of the 10 categories.

Anyone wishing to enter or make nominations can log-on to the site, choose a category from a drop-down list and simply complete a single form.

Oldham Chronicle editor Jim Williams said: “After last year’s inaugural success of the awards, we all felt we could widen participation by making the entry forms available over the internet.

“By simplifying the process, we hope to build on last year’s outstanding number of nominations.”

People will still be able to enter traditionally by completing an entry form and more than 2,500 will hit the desks of business owners and leaders across the borough in the next few days.

There will be links to the electronic entry form via the Chronicle website, the Chamber of Commerce website and Oldham Council’s site.

With the festive break fast approaching, business leaders are encouraged to look at the entry criteria, which is straightforward and does not seek confidential information, and take time to submit their entries.

The competition will hot up in the New Year as the nomination process really kicks-in, ahead of the gala presentation dinner at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on March 22, 2010.

Last year, more than 400 people from the business community enjoyed a spectacular evening of food, entertainment and a an awards ceremony to match any in the country. All finalists receive two complimentary tickets.

Anyone who entered last year can enter again.
