Saddleworth is celebrating an extra rosy glow this Yuletide because of the efforts of two enterprising businesses.
Business partners Peter Percival and Tony Harratt have come up with a Christmas treat at The Greenfield Real Ale Brewery.
Rudolph’s Tipple is a 5 per cent strength dark beer made with honey and warm winter spices.
Mr Percival said: “We only did this as an experiment but it’s caught on — we’ve sold 3,000 pints.”
Meanwhile, ace ice-cream-maker Carole Scholes has put an extra bounce into walkers’ steps at Grandpa Greene’s Luxury Ice-Creams on Ward Lane, Diggle.
The mother-of-four has developed a new liqueur-flavoured ice-cream.
She said: “I am always looking for new ideas to commemorate the season.”
