SHARYN Lewis has joined Greater Manchester Chamber as the local area manager for Oldham.
Sharyn (34), from Warrington, will be the new first point of contact for Chamber members within the Oldham, Bolton, Bury and Rochdale boroughs.
Sharyn replaces Carol Hopkins, who took a job with Rochdale Council last year.
Formerly with Business Link in the West Midlands, Sharyn performed a variety of roles working with local businesses across the region.
Being new to the area, Sharyn is keen to hear from local businesses to identify the key issues affecting companies within the borough.
“I want to begin working alongside the business community to help support the area getting back on its feet following the economic downturn,” she said.
Hearing centre manager
HEARING aid specialist Amplifon has appointed Ben Lawrenson as manager of its branch in Oldham.
His appointment will help raise awareness among residents of the importance of having their hearing regularly checked.
Originally from Bury, Ben joined Amplifon in January, 2006, as a registered hearing aid audiologist. He said: “I think it’s vital for people to understand the importance of having regular hearing tests. Too many people are suffering in silence from hearing difficulties and are unaware that a short consultation with a hearing specialist could dramatically improve their quality of life.”
Amplifon, the world’s largest supplier of hearing aids, is giving people in Oldham the chance to have their hearing assessed for free either in their local branch or at home. For a free test visit the Amplifon branch in Huddersfield Road, Oldham.
