NOMINATIONS are starting to come in for the One Oldham Business Awards — the second year of the event which recognises excellence in the borough.

For the first time businesses can nominate themselves online for one of 10 awards — visit www.oldhambusinessawards.co.uk  and follow the simple instructions.

For those of you who prefer the traditional methods, an entry form has been sent to hundreds of businesses on the Oldham Council database.

Anyone reading this who can’t either access the internet or hasn’t received a form, please call me on 0161-622 2134 and I will make sure you get a form.

Last year’s event was one of the most significant in Oldham’s recent history.

In the midst of the worst recession this country has ever known, Oldham’s businesses proved their resilience by showing once again they can not only survive, but thrive.

More than 70 nominations were received for the eight categories — this year there are 10 — and all the winners have enjoyed a year in the spotlight.

Entry is simple — there are no long, complicated questions and no need to offer confidential information on turnover or other sensitive issues.
