DIODES plc, the semiconductor manufacturer in Chadderton, is the newest sponsor of the One Oldham Business Awards.
Production director Dave Benstead, who is also chair of the Oldham Business Leadership Group, proposed a vote of thanks after last year’s inaugural gala presentation dinner at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.
Announcing his company’s intention to join a growing list of associate sponsors for this year’s award, Mr Benstead said: “I have attended many business events around the world and quite a few at the Dorchester in London.
“Last year’s One Oldham Business Awards was comparable in terms of presentation, quality, networking and enjoyment.”
He was particularly pleased to note that the awards’ steering group, comprising the Chronicle, Oldham Council Regeneration, Positive Steps Oldham, Greater Manchester Chamber and title sponsors NatWest, had instituted an environmental award.
Sponsored by Johnson Group, Delph, this new category will recognise and reward companies and organisations going the extra mile to reduce their carbon footprint or ‘go green’.
Entry forms have been posted to hundreds of companies in the borough in the past two weeks and, for the first time, entry is available online.
Visit www.oldhambusinessawards.co.uk to find an electronic version of the entry form.
Entry is simple and straightforward and once the form or multiple entries are complete simple hit the ‘submit’ button and leave the rest to the judges.
All finalists — and there are three to each of the 10 categories — will receive a pair of tickets to the black tie gala dinner.
