Advice over brunch

EMPLOYERS in Oldham can access information and advice on a range of topics during a Business Brunch at Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre.
The informal session is on Friday, from 10am to 1pm, with support organisations on hand to advise companies as we emerge from recession.
Consultants from trainers Blue Orchid will have details of start-up schemes for new and upcoming businesses, and Oldham Council’s regeneration team hasnew ways to Beat the Crunch.
Staff from HM Revenue and Customs will answer tax queries and advise anyone looking to become self-employed. The Oldham College also has details of its be your own boss course.
The event is the first of a programme of business seminars and workshops taking place at Oldham Library this year:
On Tuesday, February 2, from 9.30am–12.30pm, there is an introductory HMRC workshop for anyone wanting to work for themselves. The session covers record keeping, tax and insurance, business planning and marketing.
