GREATER Manchester Chamber of Commerce is once again supporting the One Oldham Business Awards.
Sharyn Lewis, the Chamber’s manager for the Oldham area, said: “The One Oldham Business Awards are a great platform on which to raise awareness of the work that takes place within the region.
“Recognition is given to companies who have excelled in their field and business leaders are provided with the opportunity to learn about other high-achieving and innovative companies in the area.
“The Chamber of Commerce fully supports events which highlight the successes of local businesses and encourages originality and rewarding models of best practice.”
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the number of categories has now been expanded.
This year’s ceremony will include the new Environmental Award, which will recognise the company or individual who has shown the greatest awareness of environmental issues.
As last year, the gala dinner — on Monday, March 22, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham — will include the categories of Business Man/Woman of the Year, Young Entrepreneur and Retailer of the Year, to name but a few.
Nominations will be accepted from any business based within the Oldham borough.
Last year, organisers received almost 80 nominations and the finalists were treated to a five-course meal and cabaret entertainment.
The awards are supported by the Chronicle and are run in conjunction with Oldham Council, title sponsors NatWest Business Banking and a number of other Oldham-based organisations.
