GOOD vibrations are all the rage in Shaw where a new business is attracting customers from all over the borough.
Catch the Vibe has been set up by husband and wife team John and Joanne Taylor in premises owned by the family in Milnrow Road.
The Shaw couple have invested more than £25,000 to set up the whole body vibration studio using new technology in the shape of Ultim8 Vibration Plates.
Four individual cubicles house the machines which replicate a one-hour work in just 10 minutes says Joanne, who runs the business on a daily basis, supported by her husband who has a building and landscape gardening company next door.
“There are literally thousands of ways of using the technology,” says Joanne, adding: “The key is to devise an individual programme for each person depending on what they want to achieve.
“We have some ladies who have dropped a dress size and other people who have simply toned up.
“The key programmes are to trim cellulite, improve flexibility, achieve inch loss or simply enjoy the effects of a massage.”
The technology works by driving vibrations through the muscles or body parts which require attention, adds Joanne, and these vibrations can be programmed to different pitches of intensity.
As the business grows the Taylors intend to introduce group sessions and hope to attract social groups to the studio to host events while sampling the vibration technology.
“There are endless applications and given that we have had more than 250 people through the doors since we opened we believe that people enjoy the experience and gain some benefit.
“Our clients are mostly female, including one lady who is over 70, but with the cubicles being private there is no reason for anyone looking to trim or tone up not to have a go,” says Joanne.
