AN Oldham company is playing a major role in the first ever World Health Organisation annual international conference on Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) and Health Services held in England.
Event management specialists New Image (PR) Ltd, of Shaw Road, Oldham, has been contracted to supply all the event’s audio-visual requirements over three days.
The company, which is celebrating 30 years in business, is also working on delegate management, hospitality and celebration dinners for guests and their partners.
Tackling
The conference, which is expected to attract more than 600 delegates from all over the world, takes place at the University of Manchester from April 14-16.
Focusing on “tackling causes and consequences of inequalities in health: contributions of health services and the HPH Network”, the conference is being hosted by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
Delegates from all parts of the globe will explore how hospitals and their partners in health and social care organisations are addressing health inequalities and improvement.
Distinguished speakers will present their experiences from as far afield as Australia, Toronto and Taiwan.
Conference organiser Dr Gary Cook, a consultant epidemiologist at Stepping Hill Hospital, said: “Health inequality is one of the biggest challenges facing the National Health Service.
Delighted
“We have an opportunity, within the hospital environment, to work with patients, many of whom would be regarded as ‘hard to reach’ to help them address issues such as smoking, drug or alcohol abuse and obesity.”
New Image (PR) director David Whitehead said: “We are obviously delighted to work with such a high-profile event on a global scale.
“We have played a major part in Department of Health for North-West conferences and events for seven years and this experience has been invaluable in working with the Stockport people to organise this major world event.”
