Andrea Wilson Brown has been appointed managing director of BCH Digital Ltd. bringing to the telecoms provider more than 14 years of experience of the industry.
The appointment will see Ms Wilson-Brown, from Oldham, design and implement a new marketing strategy for the specialist telecoms solution provider, raising the company’s profile and bringing bespoke solutions to market.
Currently based in Manchester, BCH Digital is to relocate to Hollinwood.
By returning to Oldham the company are focusing on supplying local businesses to ensure they are getting the best service and costs for the telecommunications.
The new office will also bring employment opportunities within its first 12 months in the area as the company becomes more established.
With a solid client base built on word-of-mouth and recommendations, this will be the first time BCH have implemented a full marketing strategy, marking an exciting new phase for the company.
Along with a new website and re-branding, BCH will be exploring events, awards, trade shows and corporate social responsibility in 2010.
Ms Wilson-Brown built her reputation within the telecoms industry with Freetime Communications Ltd.
During her time as managing director she gained industry recognition for turning a struggling business into a success by raising its profile and expanding its portfolio from one product to more 30.
After taking time out in 2005 to fulfil a life long ambition of travelling the world she returned with renewed energy, and a suntan, in 2006 and set up T1 Telecoms Ltd.
Key to the move being secured was the retention of control of T1 Telecoms Ltd. while stepping away from the day to day running of the business.
Rob Macdonald, a founding director of BCH digital, said: “Until now we have had a purely technical focus and grown through word-of-mouth. Andrea’s experience and strengths will enable us to be more proactive in bringing products to market and raising BCH’s profile in — something us tecchies tend to stay away from.”
Ms Wilson-Brown commented: “I am relishing my role at BCH. I’ve known the team for several years so know I’m working with some of the best in the industry.”
BCH has grown steadily since being set up in 2000 by Rob Macdonald and Andy Haigh to become one of the most innovative specialist telecoms providers in the UK with a turnover of approximately £10 million.
In 2004, having worked closely with IVR hardware supplier Everyware UK, the two companies merged and Everyware owner Mark Franklin joined the board.
