Oldham Rugby League Club has forged a business partnership with Chadderton firm AMP Wire Ltd, one of Europe’s most prolific suppliers of wire products.
The company has supplied and fitted several gates at the club’s new Whitebank Stadium ground, including main gates into the eight-acre complex, as well as sponsoring the dugouts and the Oldham team’s goalkicker.
“We have also told the club we will help in any other way we can while they are getting established at Whitebank,” said AMP Wire’s managing director Pam Pelham (pictured centre). The gates were made by Roughyeds fan Pete Mellor (right), a supervisor and fabricator at AMP Wire for the past 12 years, at the company’s manufacturing base, Sun Iron Works in Ward Street. The gates were handed over to Rachael Marsters, the Roughyeds’ commercial manager.
