Come network with me...

NETWORKING with a supper was a potent combination for Oldham members of Greater Manchester Chamber.

An evening hosted by Brian Wilkinson and his staff at The Caterers, in Edge Lane Street, Royton, saw the Chamber’s new Oldham local policy manager Michelle Geoghegan welcome more than 30 people to the gathering.

Mr Wilkinson thanked everyone for attending and encouraged his guests to sample the hot and cold delights prepared on site by his staff. The Caterers, which has been in the business for around 30 years, specialises in private and corporate events and on the evidence I sampled, provides a superb service.

The event was attended by representatives from a host of organisations from the service sector to manufacturing and Michelle, who was “highly encouraged” by the attendance is hopeful that more companies will come forward to host networking evenings.

Michelle Geoghegan has joined Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce as local policy manager with responsibility for Oldham.

Her responsibilities also take in Rochdale, Bolton and Bury as the Chamber’s representative to bodies such as the local authority, leading on local business issues and consultations on behalf of members in the Oldham.

The 25-year-old, who is from the North-East and is living in Ashton, joins the chamber from the recruitment industry.

She said: “I know that Oldham has always had a strong Chamber presence and I want to see more companies and organisations enjoying the benefits of membership.”
