Pelican PR in Uppermill has secured two contracts in contrasting sectors.
The company’s dedicated food and drink team has been appointed to advise Brakes Group — a leading supplier to caterers, pubs and restaurants throughout the UK.
And school leavers are being told about the benefits of apprenticeships in the metals industry thanks to a new campaign from the Pelican team.
The consultancy at Holly House, Mill Street, Uppermill, has been briefed to communicate the quality of Brakes’s fresh-food offering to the market, as well as support its specialist businesses which include bread and patisserie expert La Boulangerie, M&J Seafood, Prime Meats and fresh produce specialist Pauleys.
The account will be headed by ex-Morrisons supermarket PR Harriet Rodgers who said: “This is a big win for Pelican and a major endorsement of our food and drink expertise.
Pelican will also run a school leavers’ campaign on behalf of Metskill Academy which is part of Semta, the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies. The campaign uses a combination of radio and newspaper advertising, direct mail and PR to promote apprenticeships to young people in the Black Country, the area where there is a high concentration of metal companies.
