ONE of Oldham’s leading estate agents has ventured into the auction market in partnership with Auction house UK.
Ryder and Dutton, whose headquarters is at Salmon Fields Business Village, Royton, have been selling properties by Private Treaty, the most common method for selling property, for more than 90 years.
“Previously, when properties suitable for auction came on to the market we have worked with other local auctioneers on a joint basis, but now we have joined forces with Auction House UK we can deal deal with the entire process ourselves,” said Richard Powell, a director at Ryder and Dutton. Mr Powell added that the business will operate the service across all trading areas, which cover Oldham and Saddleworth, a large proportion of East Manchester, plus Calderdale and Kirklees in West Yorkshire. This new department will be known as Auction House Ryder & Dutton.
Mr Powell said: “We are confident that with our local knowledge and the Auction House UK systems and rapidly expanding national coverage, the new business will provide a huge benefit to both vendors and purchasers and must be seen as an exciting addition to Ryder and Dutton’s service to clients.”
He believes there are many properties which are eminently suitable for sale by auction including buildings requiring refurbishment, or those which are derelict or vacant, where work is required as well as shops, offices, factories and warehouses.
