Confetti, a web-based wedding supplies business founded in Chadderton in 1999, has gone into administration.
Confetti was sold last week by Findel, which has premises in former BAE premises at Greengate and also operates Express Gifts out of the former Osram mill at Shaw.
The Hut Group, another online retailer, bought the Confetti business — which has high street shop outlets in Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Reading and London — along with another web business for £600,000.
Administrators RSM Tenon have indicated that the shops have been closed but 46 staff have been retained in the hope of selling the business as a going concern.
The administrators report that turnover of the business was more than £5 million.
