Smell the coffee, enjoy the breakfast, get down to business

FOLLOWING the huge success of the Chronicle’s Meet the Editor breakfast at Talking Point, Scouthead, a second is taking place aimed specifically — but not exclusively — at the business community in the town centre.

Meet the Editor2, the Sequel, takes place at University Campus Oldham in Cromwell Street on Friday, October 8 between 7.30 and 9am.

David Whaley, Chronicle editor since May, will outline his vision for the the only local paper published in Oldham.

He passionately believes in the Chronicle and its role in the new Oldham evolving around us. He wants to engage with every strand of the paper’s readership.

This is a major event aimed at the town centre business community but is also open to people who could not make the last one.

David drew an audience of more than 70 at Talking Point; it was standing room only even for the two councillors who enjoyed the sponsor’s hospitality. A similar number is expected for this event in the superb lecture theatre at Oldham’s premier seat of learning.

Thanks to the generosity of the Lloyds Banking Group, the event — including breakfast — is free. Simply email promo tions@oldham-chronicle to register your interest or call Steve Duthie on 0161-622 2130.
