Cutting the burden on firms
Date published: 21 September 2010
A STREAMLINED way of checking how businesses are complying with a range of safety issues could soon be on the cards.
Oldham Council’s Cabinet will tomorrow discuss a report which recommends plans for a new business compliance assessment that aims to provide a “light touch” assessment method of checking low and medium risk businesses. If approved, the scheme should help reduce the burden on businesses who will receive just one visit to check on all regulatory areas, such as trading standards, food safety and fire safety, rather than several.
