A CAR rental firm has been nominated for a prestigious award.
Abul Shama, human resources manager for Enterprise Rent-a-Car, has been holding regular workshop sessions with students at the University Campus Oldham and even recruited past students.
And his work has become such a valuable feature of careers advisory work at the campus, that Enterprise has been nominated for the Award for Excellence in Careers Service Engagement, as part of the annual TARGET jobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards.
The university’s head of careers and employability service, Stephen Boyd, said: “Abul is trying to build relationships with the students and give them an understanding of what skills they need when they leave university.”
Mr Shama will attend the awards ceremony, along with Mr Boyd, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel tomorrow.
