EIGHT jobs have come to the borough with the merger of an Oldham autorepair workshop with a former rival in Tameside.
The owners of Adamsons Vehicle Care Centre and Wimpole Garages Ltd. have taken the decision to join Fix Auto, the UK’s leading independent repairer network and the merged businesses are now trading at Fix Auto Manchester East from the Adamsons’ workshops and offices in Cross Street, Mumps.
Seven people, plus owner Brian Kerrison, have transferred from Wimpole’s workshops in Portland Street South, Ashton.
Adamsons was formed in 1951 and has grown to become the largest vehicle repair centre in the borough, now run by Brian’s sons, James and Edward, from Royton, and Rick, from Shaw.
Wimpole Garages Ltd. has been a major player in Ashton for 45 years and is now run by the founder’s son, Brian Kerrison, from Grotton.
