A DELPH man is at the beating heart of a creative business that is gaining air-time on a raft of television networks.
Phil Chalk, who also has a musical career as a renowned cornet player and brass band conductor, is a partner at Factory Transmedia Ltd, in Altrincham.
The business has launched its creatively-led production company situated at the former facilities of post-production house, Hullabaloo Studios.
Factory TM employs more than 30 staff working on CBBC’s “Strange Hill High” — a half-hour comedy series produced with an all-new innovative technique combining puppets, stop-motion and computer graphics, dubbed “hypervynorama”.
They have also been working with Chapman Entertainment on CBeebies’ “Raa Raa the Noisy Lion” and the company’s first live-action feature, “Pulp The Movie”, with a host of future projects in the pipeline.
Managing director Phil and his co-owner Tim Harper, from Stockport, the creative director, are working with director Vince James to build a reputation in the industry based on professional service, innovation and creativity.
With over 50 years of animation experience between them, their ambition and attention to detail has won them many awards with the company representing some of the most exciting animation directors in the country.
The trio first began working together at Cosgrove Hall Films based in Cheadle, on such projects as “Danger Mouse”, “Little Robots” and “Andy Pandy” before being asked by Chapman Entertainment to set up a stop-frame animation studio.
They have added digital animation and visual effects capabilities into the business culminating in a commission from CBBC to produce “Muddle Earth”.
Phil said: “By acquiring Hullabaloo Studios we can provide a fully integrated creative, production and post-production service.
“It is a pleasure to work with Chapman Entertainment.”
