NOMINATIONS are now being accepted for the 2012 One Oldham Business Awards — and the first four entries received, online, will receive a copy of a new business-coaching book.

Author Paul Bird is a personal and business coach, mentor, entrepreneur, motivational conference speaker and business engagement specialist.

He has used his 30 years’ senior management experience of the leisure, hospitality, retail and manufacturing sector to set up a business helping individuals and business leaders fulfil their potential.

His book, “Emotional Fitness”, aims to change the way the reader thinks and feels — providing an insight into the world of human emotions.

The first four entries into any of the categories in the hugely successful One Oldham Business Awards will receive a free copy of this fascinating book courtesy of the author and Grosvenor House Publishing Ltd.

Simply visit www.oldhambusinessawards.co.uk  and enter any of the eight categories.

A new set of judging criteria is being applied this year to recognise the achievements of a business — in any sector, commercial retail or industrial — during the last 12 months and this criteria is available on the site.

The gala dinner will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham. Click here to see a video of last year.

Last year, more than 460 members of the Oldham business community enjoyed a magnificent evening of fine food prepared by the award-winning chefs at The White Hart, Lydgate, the finest wines from the cellars of JW Lees Brewery, Middleton, outstanding entertainment and, of course, the spectacular awards ceremony itself.

The best way to guarantee a ticket is to enter the awards, submit a compelling case to be shortlisted and receive free finalists’ invitations.

There are also limited opportunities for sponsorship. Such has been the success of the awards over the past three years, sponsors have been hugely loyal and supportive but companies or organisations wishing to become involved can give me a call on my direct line here at the Chronicle - 0161-622 2134 or 07860 841765 (mobile).
