A DELPH restaurant has panned its rivals for the second year running.
Italian eaterie Fresca, in Delph, has sparked a chain reaction by being named the home of the Loo of the Year for the second year running, thanks to its lush lavs.
Fresca was one of only 12 UK restaurants tout of 1,334 entries to scoop a five-star award.
Manager Alex Gallery said the two-year-old business is flushed with success over the accolade - which sits alongside the Oldham Business Award won last year.
“We were very excited to hear we’d won for the second year, especially when you realise how many companies there are competing for the awards,” said Alex.
“The award is for cleanliness above all, but our loos are very modern and contemporary and very energy efficient, with sensor-operated lights, flush and taps. The tiling is particularly stylish too.”
The awards have been dishing out trophies to top toilets since 1987.
Every entry receives an unannounced visit from a Loo of the Year inspector and is assessed against 100 judging criteria. Every loo receives a star grading ranging from one to five.
