ANDREA Wilson-Brown, managing director of Manchester-based Telecoms company BCH Digital, has been named Technology Businesswoman of the Year Award at the Forward Ladies’ North-West and Isle of Man Business Awards.

Businesswomen from across the region were recognised for their achievements at the ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester. The awards showcase talent within a variety of industries across the region, from the corporate and property sectors to international and start-up businesses.

Andrea, from Failsworth, was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the telecoms sector. Starting out as administrative assistant at Freetime Communications, she worked her way up to become managing director in only three years, turning around the struggling business into a success.

She then went on to set up her own successful telecoms reseller business T1 Telecoms, based at the Hollinwood Business Centre, Oldham, before being headhunted by BCH Digital for the role of sales director nearly four years ago.

Promoted after 18-months to managing director, Andrea has helped BCH Digital report a 42 per cent increase in turnover since her appointment.

Andrea told Chronicle Business: “It is a real honour. It was a fantastic occasion.”
