AN Oldham company has spent 12 months preparing for the Government’s next green initiative.
The Green Deal scheme, to be launched in October, is the Government’s new flagship home improvement programme. Funded through low-interest loans and energy company subsidies, the scheme will offer every homeowner and commercial building owner the opportunity to install energy efficiency measures to reduce bills and help UK carbon emission.
Greenteam Renewables Ltd, based in Lees Road, is launching its own “Get Green Deal Ready” initiative.
The energy-efficiency resource will bring low-carbon measures and technology to Oldham with no up-front costs, says managing director Wayne Brierley.
Oldham businesses and homeowners will be able to consult a Green Deal advice service, accredited installers and funding for improvements.
Mr Brierley said: “The Government initiative dictates that funding must be repayable by the savings created by the installation of modern equipment and energy saving measures. Greenteam will become a one-stop for this project. We will assess, install and source funding. When the scheme goes live in October we will be ready.”
