Staff’s burger and cake celebration
Date published: 10 August 2012
MORE than 280 employees celebrated the 10th anniversary of Oldham-based repairs and maintenance specialist City Response Ltd.
Time-served plumbers, painters, decorators and electricians enjoyed bacon butties, burgers and cake to celebrate the firm’s success alongside the next generation of operatives who are benefiting from learning a trade for life.
Breakfast and lunch were served at City Response’s head office on Oldham Broadway Business Park in Chadderton. City Response employed fewer than 50 staff when established in 2002.
Today’s workforce includes 21 apprentices providing property maintenance and repairs services to around 26,000 housing association properties across the North of England, with depots in Oldham, Leeds and Chesterfield.
City Response, which has a fleet of 230 vans, has been awarded Investors in People (IiP) Gold Status.
Managing director Billy Park, who attended the anniversary celebrations, said: “Our business is all about people — the people we employ and the people whose homes we look after and keep in good condition.”
