TWO Shaw residents who run a wrought iron manufacturers and fabricators have built new gates for Dunwood Park.
Gareth Sykes and his wife, Karen, who run Garcia and Sykes Ltd in Stalybridge, have also worked on new entry gates at Saddleworth School.
Karen, the company’s marketing manager, said: “We were particularly pleased to win the Dunwood Park contract as we often use the park with our two young children.
“We feel a great affinity to the place and all that it can offer to the local community.”
Rochdale company Casey Construction, which is undertaking a major overhaul of the park, awarded the contract to Garcia and Sykes, which specialises in wrought iron manufacturing and fabricating, including gates, railings and garden arches.
Gareth took over existing premises in 2010 when a previous fabrication company went into liquidation, with just five staff.
