A ROYTON firm has bought its premises and invested in new machinery after fixing a £1.9 million bank funding package.
The investment is part of an ambitious growth strategy at Matryx — the fast-growing paper disposables manufacturer — that will also expand the current 60-strong workforce by creating 15 new jobs.
The company has acquired the freehold for 140,000 sq ft of production and warehouse space at its main site at Woodstock Business Park. The installation of state of the art machinery will also boost production and efficiency.
Matryx’s long-standing relationship with its bank - Yorkshire Bank - has helped the business to invest £5.2 million and increase sales from £2 million in 2006 to £24 million this year.
Nigel Samuel, Matryx’s owner and chief executive, said: “2012 has been a tough year, but we have managed to continue growing. Our relationship with Yorkshire Bank plays a major role in helping us to deliver our growth plan.”
Established in 1985, Matryx makes hygiene products such as toilet rolls, paper towels, centrefeed wiping rolls, hygiene rolls, and specialist wipe. 500 distributors sell its products to large and small industrial, institutional and healthcare customers.
